Paul Chow<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Former CACCC Board Member Paul Chow passed peacefully surrounded by his dearest friends and family the evening of July 10, 2018. Paul\u2019s unforgettable presence, contagious smile and vibrant, fun-loving personality, will be forever remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Amy, and his children Jackie and Max. In 1980, Paul moved to Sacramento, California from Taipei, Taiwan, where he was to begin to build a wonderful family and cultivate some of his deepest friendships. Always a potluck favorite, Paul not only brought the most delicious dishes, but also never forgot to bring his A-game to karaoke. His quick wit was always welcomed among friends. Well-read and always thirsty for information, Paul was never without a new story or anecdote to share with all he came across. Paul was highly involved in and passionate about the Asian community in and around Central Valley California. His involvement includes being Founding President of the Twin Rivers Sacramento Rotary Club, Central Valley Advisor to the World Journal Chinese newspaper publication, Senior Advisor to the Asian Pacific Public Affairs (APAPA) Media Team, Board Member of CACCC, Consultant to the Sacramento Taiwanese Culture Foundation, Vice Chairman for the Sacramento Chinese Culture Foundation, President of the Sacramento Capitol Lions Club, Chairman of the Gee Tak Sam Tak Association and Program Host for Hong Xing TV Station in California.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Steven Chen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our Founding Board Member, Steven Chen \uff08\u9673\u66c9\u5cf0\uff09 passed away on September 30, 2012.

Steve’s association with the CACCC began as a volunteer. He soon became a member of our Advisory Board, and in 2007 was a Founding Member of the CACCC corporate board. Steve was our first Board Secretary and was heavily involved in committee work, serving on the Translation Team, the Speakers Bureau, the Drama Team, and the Events Committee. He also devoted his time to patient care, doing home visits when people were in need. Steve stepped down from the Board in 2009 to spend more time with his daughter Joy who was entering her junior year of high school. He balanced his time in this world, as  a husband, father, and employee by volunteering with several community agencies, including the Mahabodi Society of USA and the American Cancer Society, Chinese Unit in addition to his volunteer work with the CACCC. He was a trusted friend and a mindful practitioner of his Buddhist faith. His eagerness to learn, his compassion, his desire to serve and to teach all served as a role model for our Board and all the volunteers who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
